An Irish Farmer’s Diary
Thanksgiving could be more Irish than we think. Some historians claim that the first Thanksgiving stems from the generosity of the Irish people after a ship from Ireland, loaded with food, landed in Massachusetts Bay in the bitter winter of 1621. A band of starving pilgrims at Plymouth Rock celebrated the arrival this ship from Dublin bearing Irish food. I for one believe that we should celebrate Thanksgiving in Ireland too! But, I would say that.
Buying a fresh Irish Turkey in Ireland for Thanksgiving can be a bit of a challenge. Thanksgiving falls on the 28th of November this year, a few weeks before the traditional Christmas Turkeys are ready. Luckily we rear some Thanksgiving Bronze Turkeys every year. Our American and Canadian customers need not worry as we ship all over Ireland in time to celebrate a traditional Thanksgiving in your home away from home.
